Chosen to the Locus
13 November 1999, Chicago, United States, age 36.
A slightly stocky but reasonably fit man of Polish-American ancestry in his mid-thirties. Stands around 5’9” or so. He has glass-blue eyes and medium-brown hair, although he prefers it cut very close. His glasses— thick ones— provide some distraction from a two-inch scar above his left eyebrow, a souvenir of a nasty fall from a ladder at his home two years prior.
James (Jim) Michalek is a 36-year-old Chicago native whose life has fallen apart in the last years of the 20th century: a nasty divorce, laid off, living in a run-down house alone with his depression, working as a temp to make ends meet. The Locus could end his days of suffering and isolation, and maybe even bring him love again... or it could extend his misery into eternity.
